AI in Wyoming

Wyoming enacted HB 102 (2026), "Protecting kids from deepfakes and exploitative images," effective July 1, 2026; it makes nonconsensual synthetic sexual material and AI systems designed for child sexual abuse material or self-harm felonies. In 2026 the Legislature's Select Committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology and Digital Innovation Technology considered a draft bill requiring meaningful human review of consequential government decisions made with automated systems, and it shelved the draft in July 2026 for later consideration. Gov. Mark Gordon issued Executive Order 2026-03, "Data Centers the Wyoming Way," in June 2026, and the Wyoming Department of Education publishes guidance to help districts write AI use policies.
