AI in Missouri

Governor Mike Kehoe's Executive Order 26-02 (January 13, 2026) directs state agencies to develop strategies for AI in state operations, the business environment, data center energy demand, and AI-focused degrees, apprenticeships and retraining, with reports due November 30, 2026. The Office of Administration issued policy SP-19, Acceptable Use for Artificial Intelligence, on July 15, 2026, requiring approved tools, human review and disclosure of AI use by state employees. In September 2026 the Departments of Higher Education and Workforce Development and Elementary and Secondary Education partnered with Google to offer free AI courses, career certificates and educator AI tools.
