AI in Louisiana

Governor Jeff Landry's Executive Order JML 25-103, "State Government's Use of AI" (signed in September 2025), paused new AI procurement by state agencies until December 15, 2025, required AI acquisition and information-management policies and an inventory of AI contracts and use cases, and restricted entering sensitive data into AI systems. In February 2025 Louisiana Economic Development launched Louisiana Innovation (LA.IO), a $50 million Louisiana Growth Fund and the Louisiana Institute for Artificial Intelligence, whose first project aims to upgrade 5,000 small businesses with AI tools. The Louisiana Department of Education released "Artificial Intelligence in Louisiana Schools" guidance for K-12 systems in August 2024.
